Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving day is coming to a close. My in-laws came over for a Thanksgiving lunch of turkey, cranberries, corn, green beans, corn bread muffins, blueberry muffins, and mashed potatoes. We also had a relish tray with olives (black and green), sweet pickles, dill pickles, carrots, cucumber, and red peppers. Finally we had pumpkin pie for dessert (no one had any room for the apple pie).

It was a very nice time and Gary ate his fill. He is almost over his could (the doctor said is is probably croup and may last a bit longer). He helped me in the kitchen by counting how many potatoes I had peeled and chopped for the mashed potatoes.

The last thing I have to do is to take the turkey stock I am making off the stove and then clean my big stock pot.

Stay safe and warm everybody.

Weekend before Thanksgiving

It has been another lazy (or almost lazy) weekend here. Saturday morning we all went and saw the new Harry Potter movie. We were supposed to be in a sensory screening (not as loud, no advertisements, lights up, etc.) but the theater did not have one. We went to a regular screening instead. Gary did really well and we all enjoyed the movie. After the movie we went home for lunch. After lunch I took a little nap. After my nap I put up our outdoor Christmas displays (Carousel, North Pole fire truck, penguin, and Santa).

Today I am doing some laundry, cleaning off the junk table, and watching the Saints game. Jennifer and Gary just finished watching an Avatar: The Last Airbender Book One marathon.

I went shopping on Friday for Thanksgiving dinner and have everything except for desserts.

New water heater

I stayed home from work today so I could be here for the plumber to install a new hot water heater. Our old tank had a leak so it was time for a new one. We are getting a tankless water heater which is supposed to be more efficient and cost less in utilities. With the $600 coupon and $1500 federal tax credit it brings the cost to be close to conventional tack hot water heater.

Gary is doing well. He was up early and then in his "I'm not going to school" moods. He is like that every time he sees me at home on a school day. Of course he really likes school and being with the other kids.

Another weekend winding down

Well another weekend is coming to the end here. It was fairly quiet. Saturday we all went to see Mega Mind. It was a fun movie. We all really liked it. Sunday was just a quiet day at home. I did get called into work for a couple of hours in the morning. Gary played his Wii.

Tomorrow starts another week of school (and Gary has his Monday appointment with Dr. Pat).
